Hi, My name is Caleb Smith, the founder, owner and head technician at Bald Peak, and I bring years of personal, hands-on experience maintaining my own bikes and mechanical aptitude, formal certifications in professional bicycle mechanics, and a background in assembly and mechanical work through National Assemblers. Most importantly, I bring genuine passion—for bikes, for the outdoors, and for helping riders get the most out of their time on two wheels. Because of my love for Maine and the outdoors, 1% of profits will be donated to the Tumbledown Conservation Alliance!

Bald Peak isn’t just a name—it’s a symbol of what we stand for. Our logo features the actual topography of Bald Mountain near Weld, Maine, a favorite hike for my brother and I. With rugged trails and sweeping views of Webb Lake, the Western Maine Mountains, and the Tumbledown Range, Bald Mountain represents exactly what we want this business to be: steady, reliable, and rooted in the outdoors. Just like that peak, Bald Peak strives to stand tall as a trusted landmark for riders in Central Maine.
Our Story
Bald Peak was born from both necessity and passion. After years of fixing and fine-tuning my own bikes, and building a career assembling everything from bicycles to complex mechanical equipment, I saw the need for something different in Maine: a bike service that comes to the rider.
Armed with professional certifications, a fully equipped mobile shop, and a lifelong love of cycling and the outdoors, I set out to make bike service more accessible, convenient, and rider-focused. No big shop counters, no hauling bikes across town—just honest, professional service delivered right to your doorstep, workplace, or trailhead.
